 I think there are many fidonet programs that support several bases. 
TerMail supports .MSG and  JAM, and probably would have supported more if
development had continued.

Yes.  I don't know the details, but that is basically it.  They may require
fees if the Linux product is intended for commercial use.  I don't want to
give out bad info, so please check the site if you want to know for sure.

 I am not familiar with that word.  DMC was formerly known as Zortech C and
Symantec C++ before taking the name Digital Mars.  It was written by Walter
Bright, was at some point sold to Symantec, and has now made it back to Mr.
Bright.  It supports 16bit DOS and Windows, 32bit DOS, Win32s, and Win32. 
It is free to download, though I suggest people purchase the CD to show
support for Walter's efforts.  He is only charging $25.00 USD.
