Hi, Roy and All;
CH> Old tech was before "planned obsellessance" became widespread
CH> and manufacturing started building in the "wear-out factor" by
CH> using sub-standard parts.
CH> A 1955 car was expected to last at LEAST 10 years. A 1995 car
CH> is expected to start falling apart in just over five. Some
CH> progress, eh?
But I can't AFFORD anything newer than a 10-year-old car! :-{
RJT> Yeah.
RJT> What's wrong with this picture?
It has been said that the ideal invention is the common flashlight
battery: It serves a necessary purpose and it's guarenteed to wear out,
thereby generating repeat business! (Rechargable batteries nullify this
to some extent).
Catch you later...
Ivy
