It seems to do a good job at dealing with all sorts of installation issues, from what I hear. NH> Do any of the GUI frameworks for Linux come with a programming NH> editor or will be on my own (presumably with Emacs and Vi). I run Slackware here, and counting what shows up in KDE, there are a whole *mess* of editors. Which one you'd consider to be a good "programming editor" I'm not going to guess at. Being used to using qedit under dos, I generally stick with mcedit (comes as a part of the mc package) and that's good enough for what little I do -- even though it includes such niceties as syntax highlighting and showing matching parentheses/braces/brackets, etc. Never got into either vi (or any of its clones, which appear to be installed here) or emacs. Yet, anyhow. ---* Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 270/615 150/220 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
