    'Folks'  is  an  expression  used  by  people  who  live in less
    populated  areas of the US. We refer to them as 'country' (as in
    Country Western music that I understand is popular in Europe?) 

    Your  use  of  the  word  'except' was correct 'accept' would be
    wrong. 

    except = to not use 

    accept = to receive 

    The sound of the words is similar, the meanings are not.

    NEWBE = an abbreviation for NEW BEGINNER (not slang)

    echos in your 'net'. There are many many FIDO echos. 

    If   you  enjoy  movies  the  FILM  echo  is  very  relaxed  and
    conversational.

    I  have  no  idea where TA is but I am in Michigan just North of
    Detroit  (where  they  design  and  build automobiles). Michigan
    looks like a child's mitten on a map of the US.
