It's a name given to a type of EMD locomotive where the radiator air intakes 
are near the frame, rather than high on the hood per usual.  This allowed the 
locomotives to operate in long tunnels without overheating, hence "tunnel
motor".  Two models made include the SD40T-2 and SD45T-2.
