MEG UMANS was thinking about FDA Acts and keyed into cyberspace:
MU>-> The FDA will be imposing restrictions on the sale of products
MU>-> containing ephedrine as the uncontrolled consumption of this
MU>-> potent drug has resulted in 18 deaths and over 800 serious
MU>-> injuries requiring
MU>-> hospitalization.
MU>Yup, and cutting into the phen-fen etc. market, just like tryptophan
MU>had to go when "they" realized it was cutting into sales of some
MU>psychotropic meds. In another year or two, St. John's Wort may be
MU>declared too dangerous for us to consume. Then someone will have to
MU>figure out how to make Rescue Remedy sound potentially letha.
Right. And let's just ignore the fact that there were people dropping
dead in the L-tryptophan fiasco and that there have been 18 deaths and
over 800 reportable events due to ephedrine use.
Do you know what a "reportable event" is? I do. It is where some form of
life support is required or where a persons blood pressure exceeds a
certain level due to the ingestion of some substance. IOW, if medical
attention was not received, there could have been over 800 additional
deaths.
So, lets pass around some fairy tale fantasy about something cutting
into profits and forget people are dropping dead. Sure.
