64 bit computing is not something that Microsoft invented.

You will need a 64 bit OS if you want to be able to use all of your 4gb or
more of RAM. It is a law of physics, not a Bill Gates fantasy.

I suggest you look up what 64 bit is, and you should also make yourself
aware of the fact that Linux is available in 64 bit and that probably
within 10 years we will see 128 bit computing.
