I am much happier having a physical volume speaker than having to control
the modem's speaker volume using ATLn commands. I'll have to remember to
turn the thing down before I go to bed. As you said, it's EXTREMELY BLOODY
LOUD.
The NetComm M11F I was using before was loud, but not THIS loud!

That's what I've been advised to do also. Run a terminal, issue that
command and then use ATZ from then on.

I am proud to have joined too. It's quite strange how I came to buy my
Courier. I was half asleep early yesterday morning, aware that my bank
account balance was healthier than usual (pay day), and I had the sudden
impulse to buy a new modem. I was thinking of an M34F (since my experience
with NetComms has always been good), but I decided on the Courier instead.
The M34F is a good modem, but from what I have seen, the Courier is the
LAST modem I will ever have to buy. Plus, it supports V.32terbo, V.34+ and
HST.
