Meng-Shi, at 02:30 on Jul 12 1996, you wrote to All... ML> I have just been reading the ads in the papers. There appears to be 2 ML> models of Couriers available (in Austel approved form). Yes, but the 28k8 model is also essentially a V.E as well, which has not yet been flashed with the 33k6 code. ML> If I go for the 28.8k, am I missing anything? Can this model be upgraded to ML> 33.6k via FlashROM? Absolutely. ML> I think there used to be a model which you can upgrade via a daughter ML> board - I DON'T want this. So, when did USR stop making this model. About 6 months ago. However, with older Couriers, it was the daughterboard which added V.34 capability to the modem. The only likely problem with these is that when CID is eventually introduced here, these modems will require a very simple modification to their circuitry, unlike the newer single board version of the Courier.
