Hello Dan! 22 Aug 09 09:40, you wrote to me: DC>> Which is why most business that are smart insist on XP on their DC>> replacemnts. DC> I've had quite enough of your condescension. It takes that with you when you wont bother to read what you are being told. I find it unfathomable that someone (you) with the same humble computer beginnings as I, didnt do his homework, went out and purchased a 64 bit capable computer with a 64 bit OS on it, rolled the OS back to 32 bit, all because he didnt understand the mechanics involved with 64 bit computing and wants to blame it all on Microsoft. Right now you are letting approx 600megs of RAM sitting out of your reach. 1:123/456, my reading node machine, currently on Linux, but was once Windows XP.. When Vista released, I upgraded the machine to Vista, all the Fido Software still worked, not a single Fido program failed to run. Granted that machine was and is only capable of running 32 bit OS, all the Fido software was win32. You should have done your homework and listened to others about DOSBOX or perhaps VMWARE and you virtualizing a full DOS environment. 4gigs is a terrible thing to waste. Then again the world will survive past DOS. == Ross Fidonet Feeds Or Fidonet In Your Newsreader: http://www.easternstar.info E-mail: ross(at)cassell(dot)us | Blogs/Other Places: http://links.cassell.us --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5-b20060121* Origin: The Eastern Star - [Mail Hub] - Spartanburg, SC USA (1:123/500) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/200 331 14/250 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 SEEN-BY: 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 SEEN-BY: 261/1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/104 260 267 SEEN-BY: 633/285 690/682 734 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2320/100 5030/1256 @PATH: 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
