RW> And to go with a CB I'll need an antenna. What you

 RW> antenna
I have a 75 Honda Civic with CB, scanner, UHF business,
and 2 cell phone antennas. The scanner antenna is about
12" from the K-40 CB antenna. (I consider the K-40 to
be one of the best made.) I have no problems with the
scanner. The UHF business is about 12" on the other
side of the scanner antenna. It is a 5/8 over 5/8 Larsen,
the radio has a 40 watt output. I do get some overloading
on the 460MHz police frequencies when I transmit.
The scanner antenna is an 18" whip, which makes it a
quarter wave VHF and a 3/4 wave UHF (460MHz). All of
the antennas are magnet mounts, infact, I understand
that the K-40 was designed to be used with its magnet
base for the best matching and standing wave.
Scanner is a RS PRO-2004
For anyone interested, the 2 cell phone antennas are
more then a wavelength apart so as not to interfer
with each other. They are Larsen 5/8 over 1/4 wave
closed coil with the "new" style base (looks like a
large metal cone tapering up from the base load, no
spring). If you don't know what your looking at, they
all look like different height center load CB antennas.
