Hello All!
I just started picking up this conference so forgive me if this isn't on
topic...
I've just recently got a copy of Paradox for Windoze (ver 5.0 I think?)
installed on my machine at the office. I really haven't had a chance to dig
into either the manuals or the software yet, but I think I have a decent
understanding of the normal capabilities to expect out of a relational
database application such as paradox. Ok, now for my question...
Given a database table something like this...
Unique Identifier Test Date Production
----------------- ---------- -------------
Well_1 1/1/95 1000
Well_2 1/1/95 2000
Well_3 1/1/95 3000
Well_1 1/2/95 900
Well_2 1/2/95 1900
Well_3 1/2/95 2900
Well_1 1/3/95 800
Well_2 1/3/95 1800
Well_3 1/3/95 2800
and another table that has groups like so...
Unique Identifier Belong_to_Group_A Belong_to_Group_B etc...
---------------- ----------------- -----------------
Well_1 Yes No
Well_2 Yes Yes
Well_3 Yes Yes
Is there an easy way to create another table and/or report that would give
me a daily history of the total production for wells belonging to Group_A?
Example of output table/report would be
Production for Group_A wells:
Date Production
--------- -----------
1/1/95 6000
1/2/95 5700
1/3/95 5400
Flexibility to create new groups of unique identifiers and then get a report
of their composite daily history of production is a key feature that I'm
hoping for. I need to be able to easily add/delete wells from groups (and
create new groups) without re-writing a bunch of SQL commands. Is this
possible?
C ya!
