Hi All
Feeler gauges are better than drill bits since you can get any thickness
accurate to 0.0005".
The thing to be wary of is that these things can be wide and this will
introduce a *small* error in the measurement.
I ground a 6" f/8 using these to measure the sagitta. The final focal
length was 47.5" (approx).
