So am I, but I want to know how you design a driver without knowing what
voltage the motor is?
Also, since the motor has two twisted pairs instead of 5+ leads it leads
me to believe what he really has is a DC motor. One pair being the field and
one pair being the armeture. If the motor has brushes that would be a dead
giveway. If not it could be a 400 cycle motor from some kind of aircraft.
Without some hint of what the motor expects it is a waste of time unless you
just want to make it run for the fun of it. Then it doesn't matter how much
time or money you spend.

Ian, have you checked the resistance of the wires? Are the pairs
interconnected?
