We lost the minute we went into Iraq the way we did.

Only if we nuke them and start WWIII.  They really do have the military
capability to hold us off with the state of our conventional military. (It
would make Iraq look like a picnic)

I had a dream about this a couple of weeks ago, we used some of our new
(not yet realized supposedly) bunker buster tactical nukes to totally
destroy Iran's nuclear capability, including their electrical grid.  A very
bad mess for the Iranians, thousands dead and lots of radiation for later
deaths, Iran basically defeated. *But* Russia and every single Arab nation
got a bit testy -- we basically then lose all of our military assets in the
middle east, navy, air force, army, national guard.  The navy gets depleted
badly be Iranian anti ship missiles at first, then Russians, the army/NG
gets totally overwhelmed by superior numbers on the Arab side, the AF has
nowhere to land and/or attack on the ground.  Well, we're still okay, right
-- not a chance, no oil is being shipped to us any more, we're basically
embargoed from everywhere except Canada, Mexico and domestic.  So we
immediately have over half of our oil coming in, gas quadruples in price
and needs rationed, terrorist attacks start happening daily in the US from
previously infiltrated Arab groups (love those Bush open borders!!), next
food starts to be in short supply.  We then go on total war footing,
rationing like we've never seen before in this nation, Bush goes into
hiding and the shadow government takes over and declares martial law, mass
killings start, first Arabs, the Jews, then Christians.  And that's the end
of the USA, both as a super power, and as a democratic country.

Now I agree, that's a totally worst case scenario (it was a dream after
all!), but do you REALL, REALLY, want to chance that on an attack on Iran
with absolutely no, nada, zip, zilch, benefit to this country and our
people?  Just because you're scared that they may lob nukes in the future,
I got news for you, we've been under that threat from a lot stronger
countries for a long time, and we didn't attack them.
