| subject: | Re: Global warming caused by ..... Sun?? |
From: Robert Comer >Change is good in so many ways. It can be, but I'm too empathic to sit back and watch others die without it bothering mean, and climate warming is definitely going to cause suffering. >We are not that important in the universe, it goes >on without our silly scratching about. We are all we have, and truly, we (the human we) are the only thing that is important. The quote that fits my attitude best is about not going to go quietly in the night... Besides, it's like the old parable, if a tree falls in the woods, but nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound. (the answer is who cares, the tree and the forest, the sound, and the earth itself is irrelevant if nobody is there to use it.) >I make exceptions for a few, >like Shakespeare, Bach, and Scott Adams. Not me, every life is as precious their's. I'm more of a Hawking, Tesla, Einstein, Galileo, De Vinci type myself, but they too are just human and "worth" no more than that. Their works are a different matter altogether, but they "belong" to us all. They wouldn't have been what they were without the rest of us being around. >It's a long fall from the high horse.
