Not normally. In some areas they might contract to the locals, but most all
state parks in TN have Law Enforcement rangers assigned. Those rangers
respond and handle everything in the park from loud music, to drug
enforcement,
murder, etc.
Nashville, and the park in south nashville, (Can't remember it's name, based
around a lake that was built by the railroad, to provide water to radnor
yards) Radnor lake park, maybe. State park, no camping, but trails and
a couple of buildings. I don't beleive they have a law enforcement ranger,
just a couple of interpetation rangers.
I believe they contract with the county there.
Few and far between is the situation where the county handles state parks.
JG> I don't know that I've ever heard a State Park Ranger in this area,
JG> they've got an office up on the north side of the TN River but they're
JG> not even notified of deer struck by autos on the roadway anymore...
Nor would they be. That would come under TWRA, Tennessee Wildlife Resource
Agency. They most often tell the locals to fill out a form, and handle it.
