ALF has an "Edit files.bbs" command which runs your text editor and loads the 
file list from the current file area. From remote it does the same, but also 
runs doorway.exe so you can edit remotely. Your terminal software must have 
`Doorway Mode' as well. 
Note that the doorway.exe command line in ALFDORED.MEC is missing the `F' for 
fossil driver, as in `SYSF' - works much better if you add it ;-)
