SC>> And they were taught that by their fathers and their fathers were
SC> SC>> taught that by their grandfathers, etc. What gets me is the
SC>> double standard. If a guy has a lot of conquests he is a super
SC>> stud, but if a woman does she is a w***e. That still hasn't
 SC>> changed.

MK> For good reason! Women are stuck with the consequences even if they
MK> are able to get financial assistance for any 'mistakes'. As for sons,
MK> I don't have any but I can assure you that if and when it comes to
MK> talking to my grandson about this particular issue I will indeed warn
MK> him about the dangers of any conquests he may or may not feel he needs
MK> to be doing. I know how my father felt about this issue. Mind you he
MK> had daughters, sisters and a mother so perhaps he understood.

I talked to my son because I knew what his father probably told him. hehehe
I've also talked to my grandson already. He surprised the heck out of me when I
told him he needs to keep his hands off until he is much older. He came back
with that you are suppose to be married before you do it. He was about 12 at
the time. Now if he remembers this when he is with some female someday remains
to be seen. He does have the right idea though.

SC>>>> I would like to think, but know it isn't true, that a guy would
SC>>>> want to get to know me before "that" happened
and at least like
 SC>>>> me.

MK>>> I agree. That is usually the best case scenerio.

SC>> Those have a better chance of leading into a relationship at
 SC>> least.

MK> I believe so although there are certainly no guarentees. However then
MK> there are no 'mistakes' either or at least not the 'mistakes' that
MK> require upbringing, proper or otherwise, whatever proper means.

Babies aren't the only mistakes though. Gotta think of those nasty diseases
going around, especially the deadly one.

SC>> But who considers it a failure? It is the other men. Men have
SC>> more of a tendency to ask if another *got any* than a woman would
 SC>> another woman.

MK> I am not so sure about that. Personally, I am more private about
MK> those sorts of things, including most women. As a rule men tend to
MK> brag about it more then women, as well as exagerate.

Yep, even if they don't get "IT", they sometimes say they do.

SC>> What is it that I heard? A man goes on a date wondering if he
SC>> will get any and the woman already knows. ;-)

MK> Probably true. I usually assume it won't happen. I am not sure I
MK> really would even if I want to and it were possible. Too many scarey
MK> things could happen without knowing or at least thinking I know.

Yep.

SC>> I just feel that isn't something you should even have as a goal
SC>> on a first date anyway. The first date should be talking and
SC>> seeing if that *spark* is there.

MK> Yeah. A cold shower still works so a viable backup exists.

hehehe Took a few of them, did you?
