Well, you do make a good point, as my ex has my Dynaco Stereo 120 circa
1973 or so and the Hafler pre-amp that I replaced the PAT4 with some years
later (not because the PAT4 died, just liked the new one). My Dad had a
Harmon-Kardon receiver from the early 60s up till not too long ago, but
between tubes being harder to get and the size, he upgraded to something
more modern and compact.

Still, this Sony receiver wasn't expensive in the first place, maybe $200
if that and with a shop charge of at least $35, probably $50, if something
else goes shortly thereafter it's just not really cost effective.
