Imperial Klingon Vessel Nexis decloaking! >>> Richard Meic on Time and Again RM> The nature of time/space seems to contradict any theory of a beginning RM> to the universe. Unless your the kind that would cop out and state RM> that time/space was made to _look_ that way . WE> Ancient universe: Open space/time finite in extent, hence edges to WE> the world and a beginning or creation of time. WE> Newtonian universe: Open space/time infinite in extent, hence no WE> beginning nor end but just infinite extension. WE> Modern universe. Closed bounded space/time finite in extent and WE> without edges, thus extension in any direction will eventually return. WE> Hence cyclic time. WE> Psychological universe. My awareness of time extends backwards to my WE> birth and forwards to now with some glimpses beyond. WE> Conclusion: time without beginning and end can be effected two ways; WE> infinite time that always was and always will be; cyclic time that WE> continually repeats. ... In no time at all time began for its time had WE> come. WE> --- Personaly I like the thought that time is only a concept that man has reated to explain the mysteries of memory. Time does not exist in this universe. All things are simply movement through space. All mater is mearly changing form and location. Now if want to use the argument of the speed of light and time dilation. The old theory where there are two brothers one goes off at the speed of light and comes back only aged acouple of years while his brother has aged 100 years. The brother going the speed of light gains more mass and that slows time. This to me is not a temporal reaction it is the effect of gravity on the subatomic particals. They mearly move through space at a diferent rate than the rest of the universe. This is a phisical henomena not a tempral one. Although I find is rather dificult to express my oinion using a language based on time (Pasttence, present, future tence). Einstine said that time and space are so intertwined they are vertually one. Why not just drop the time and keep the space? Gerry Normandeau Nexis@storm. ca ...
