And there were only two terrorist attacks on US soil in the 212 years prior to
9/11/2001 (neither the British invasion in 1812 nor the Japanese attack in 1941
qualify as terrorist operations).  That's 212 years of safety aside from the dozen
or so people who were hurt or killed in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade
Center - and the perpetrators of that terrorist attack are rotting in prison, where
they belong, and have been for 15 years.  Of course, Timothy McVeigh
was caught within hours of bombing the federal building and killing 180+ people
in Oklahoma City, was tried, was convicted and was executed.  AFAIK *none* of
the investigations of those 1993 and 1995 terrorist actions involved
anything remotely resembling 'enhanced interrogations,' yet both crimes
were solved and the perpetrators
of both crimes were punished - and during a *Democratic* administration, no less.
AFAIK most of the surviving perpetrators of the 9/11 atrocity - and *all* of that
outfit's leadership - are still running around loose *despite* those 'enhanced
interrogations,' EIGHT years later.

Note that if you had been *IN* New York City on the morning of 9/11/2001, your
chances of being hurt in that terrorist action were something less than 1 in 3,000.
Anyplace else in the country at that time and anyplace in the country any other time
the chances were and are much less.  Yet Bush minor's administration and its right
wing sycophants managed to use that event to keep most of the country in a state of
panic for eight years.
