HH> I am having a problem with dBase IV under a DOS
HH> session of OS/2 (Warp connect). It has to do with
HH> index files (*.MDX). The simplest form of the error
HH> is this:
HH> go to the dot prompt
HH> use
HH> index on tag
HH> I get an error message saying "File already open" and
HH> I am not able to create the index tag. The only
HH> problem is that once in a while I am able to create
HH> the tag but I can't seem to find any logic to it.
HH> Also, this error occurs with files which already have
HH> an associated MDX file and with files which don't so
HH> that's not the problem. Any ideas? Any solutions?
You might try this...
go to the dot prompt
use
SET EXCLUSIVE ON
index on tag
SET EXCLUSIVE OFF
HH> Is this a dbase/OS2 compatibility problem?
I don't think so. I've been running it under Warp 3.0 for
a long time.
