subject: Someone with an E5 please answer

I've just received an E5 modem with a fried resistor in the DAA. I KNOW
that is the only faulty component because the unit works if I short the
resistor out.

Does some VERY nice person want to take a look at their modem for me and
tell me what value the resistor R56 is ? It's towards the corner of the
board, nearish where the line and handset jacks are. Mine has had its
identification toasted off and is open circuit.

Note : This is a SmartModem V.32 E5. It's in the older style metal case,
not the newer plastic case NetComm use these days.

Also, does anyone know whether the 12000bps V.32turbo feature was automagic
on this model (if fitted), or had to be enabled explicitly ?
