    Hmmm excellent question, 
    If you mean would I buy the a New Model 1734 at retail,
    (around 235.00)?  Probabaly not. Too expensive, when
    I can get an external X2 voice modem for 99.00
    (www.pricewatch.com)
    But I bought a Model 1172 with the promise that it would
    be upgraded FREE to X2 in Jan 1997, (For 159.00)
    It was actually not able to be upgraded, but USR
    was true to their promise... (VERY VERY LATE)
    They sent me a NEW X2 Voice Modem. Model 1734.
    IF I had a V34 Modem... I dont think the normal
    guy should spend 100.00 just for X2...
    But If I had a V32Bis... yeah X2 is worth
    100.00 to move from 14.4k to 53k and 33k6.
    (I would make sure the modem had Flash Rom
    so the upgrade to IUTs Standard next year would
    be easy to install.
