Not at all! I'm *glad* we have people who delight in producing
quality. There's too much mediocrity in the world already.
I think the "economy" direction is not going to be in the "skimpy"
animation department, but more in the "Toy Story" direction. Once
everyone figures out how to do full motion computer-generated
animation without having to apologize, it will become the dominant
form of animation.
We already have computers aiding the Disney animation process;
I believe the ink and paint is now done in the computer, along
with the production of the final print (as opposed to the multiplane
camera). In both of these steps, the computer can produce results
equal to the older technologies. Maybe better. Certainly cheaper.
