subject: IIgs Colouring Beta 3 (Formerly Dora Colouring)

To: comp.sys.apple2,comp.sys.apple2.programmer,comp.emulators.apple2
Guys,

I really wanted to get this out earlier, but unfortunately I've been
busy with real-world stuff (a new job to get to grips with). Anyway, it
brings me great pleasure to announce the 3rd beta of Dora Colouring -
now referred to as "Colouring for the IIgs" as it is no longer Dora
specific.

Grab the beta 3 from my web site:
http://apple2.sytes.net/Pascal_Programming/IIgs_Colouring/index.html

Please update any old links you may have, as I have changed things
somewhat to reflect the program title change, etc.

New features in beta 3 include:

* Thomas the Tank Engine theme pack (including all new music)
* theme pack support (driven by simple configuration files)
* any number of configuration files can be present within the directory
* theme selection menu
* kids colouring remains persistent in memory so they can go back and
   admire their handiwork
* a "trash can" to clear any colouring on the current picture
* a progress bar whilst reading configuration
* comes on a bootable 5Mb partition with System 6.0.1 for easy use in an
emulator

I will be providing details on how to create your own theme packs (its
pretty easy) in the near future.

This new version scans the game folder looking for text files ending in
'.cfg' and assumes that they are a theme pack config file. A text menu
is then presented for you to select which theme to play and the
appropriate config file is read in.

Hopefully this release draws me a little closer to v1.0 final, which
means I'll be able to move onto one of the other projects I have in the
back of my mind. :-)

Enjoy, and please let me know what you think. Also, please let me know
if you find any bugs.

Cheers,
Mike
