OF course, it's becoming standard operating procedure. THey know they
don't want some citizen showing the world what
might be construed as a violation of somebody's rights.

true, but hard as hell to build one. DOwntown des MOines at a company
which maintains a lot of the paging systems etc.
they've got one for working on equipment because downtown DM is so full of
rf signals that it's necessary to bench test
some of their gear. walls lined with copper, all bonded
together, and well grounded.
YOur atuomobile if it's all metal is about as good as you
can get as a faraday cage. IN fact that's what I tell hams
trying to use their little portables with the rubber duck
antenna inside the car. "get that antenna outside that
roling faraday cage . Hard as hell to build.
ONe little hole for rf to get through and your cage is
worthless.
tHe folks originally built my remote audio truck thought
they were kicking major tail by lining the walls with lead,
but lead is not what they needed. THey needed to line the
walls with copper, and rig a damned good bond with earth
ground. I had to call a guy to get parts for my mixing
console yesterday, and had to be looking at the console when I talked to
him. I was able to do it from inside the control room in the back of the
truck using my wife's tracphone.
Had it been a true faraday cage I"d have never gotten to the cell site.

Regards,
           Richard
