So far, there is no magic elixer.  It's doubtful there ever will be.  
There are just too many neural connections that have to be manipulated 
in a perfectly controlable fashion.

You also have the situations were the innocent persons simply confesses 
"just because".  And, there are those that confes to enjoy the 
celebrity/noteriety.

That's why "innocent until proven guilty" is so important.
