hi,

DNActually, apart from "interpreting" the file and placing it into an
DNinternal buffer (where you edit it), then "encoding" it on the way out,
DNthe editor itself need not concern itself too much about ansi itself.
DNProbably it will be only one of several possible formats - right? (Sort
DNof like THEDRAW or ANSIPAINT?)

I have realised that... the thing is i'll be using me own format though.

DNPick up a copy of Bob Stout's SNIPPETS. This is a compilation of postings
DNmade to the C_ECHO and C_PLUSPLUS conferences over many years. It
DNincludes a couple of ANSI interpreters - at least one in C, written by
DNMark Kimes', and another one written in C++ by me. If you're after the
DNC++ one, then go for the most recent version of SNIPPETS, which is - if I
DNrecall - only a couple of months old since the earlier version had a
DNminor bug that prevented some screens from displaying correctly.
DNSNIPPETS contains lots of useful code, for the novice and experienced
DNuser alike.

yeah, cool... i'll have a look and see what I can use.

thanks again
matt
