I care, so I read this mail from Cees Schouten...

SS> I care, so I read this mail from Cees Schouten...

That's my fave quote header.. use it most everywhere (except the FLAME echo)

SS> maps itself to Alt-F12, so you'll need enhanced keyboard checking
SS> turned on. Btw, it's for Qedit 3.0.
 CS> Great!
SS> heh.. did you like it?
CS> Yezz... not something I'm going to use everyday but it's really neat.
I did it on a whim.. :)

CS> BUT... I didn't know how to work with that macro stuff until right
CS> now. I had to figure it out and I did. Need stuff!! Can't do it right
CS> now coz' I'm working with Boxer/2 here as an external editor for
CS> timEd; still have to register my (external) editor and QEdit/2 isn't
 CS> shareware.
CS> Now I know how to work with macro's under QEdit I really don't know
CS> which one to register: QEdit/2 or Boxer/2... think Boxer is
CS> cheaper... :) But do you have any more of this fancy stuff?
SS> If you want some GREAT Qedit macros, FREQ QPACK10.UC2 from
 SS> 1:342/1022, it's a collection I have .. err.. collected over the
SS> past year and a half of so.. great stuff in there. It's really easy
CS> Just did, a couple of times.... NO CARRIER. Will try it later.
Yes, I checked my mailer logs, and attempted to send you routed netmail on
he
matter, but it got bounced by my NC (who doesn't allow routed netmail).:(
Anyways, hope you have it by the time you read this ..

SS> for you to write macros, by the way; just turn on Macro Recording
SS> from the Macro Menu in QEDIT, pick a hotkey for it, and do something
SS> you want to have automated in the future. Easy stuff. But I would
SS> reccomend you checked out QPack10.Uc2 from my BBS for a lot of great
 SS> Qedit customiztion stuff.
CS> Right, and it's possible to put some things, like smileys, under
CS> Control-Key combinations? For instance,	, which I use mostly is
CS> with me. And will it be saved automatically or any which way
CS> so that you don't have to program your macro's everytime you start up
 CS> QEdit?
Well, it depends. Let's use your Ctrl-D macro as an example. If you
programmed it into Qedit using the macro record function, then when you exit
Qedit it will lost. However, if you cut the following line out of this
message:
^d
...and paste that into your QCONFIG.DAT file, replacing whatever the ^d line
in there used to be, then run Qconfig and select "Keys" (which will load your
QCONFIG.DAT file and import the macros from it so that they exist each time
you start up Qedit) then save the changes it makes to your Q.EXE file, then
the next time (and every time, till you change it) you use up Qedit, you can
always hit control-d and make a appear at the cursor! :)
That was a lonnnng sentence.:)
 SS> re Qedit vs. Boxer : it's personal preference.. I personally haven't
SS> even tried Boxer, since I fell in love with QEdit the day I
SS> downloaded version 2.08 off a BBS long, long ago.:)
CS> I've worked with them both; and since boxer/2 came in shareware the
CS> choice was easy. Now I've laid my hands on a QEdit clone for OS/2 by
CS> the name of BEdit. Almost the same with a couple of less features but
CS> very workable. And free! :) Found that one accidentally coz' this
CS> Belgian programmer made a very nice bbs prog for OS/2 (AcroBat/2) and
CS> I'm having contact with him via the InterNet.
I could send you Qpack10.Uc2 via Internet email if that suits you. It'll
log
you up unless you can handle 200/300 k of UUencoded mail, though.
 CS> Ceessie ceessie@worldaccess.nl
Jotted that address down. :)
