Again, I recommend the Fido Audio Echo, several Tubist there including 
yself.
Pick up a copy of Glass Audio, a bimonthly publication devoted to DYI tube
gear. If you can't find it at a -good- book/mag store, contact Audio Amateur
Publications, Inc. at 603-924-9464 for a sample and/or subscription. I also
have a decent collection of schematics of vintage gear like the Marantz 8b,
Williamsons, Dyna ST-70, Heath W-6 or A-9, and some more modern designs like 
AR
classic 30, MFA Magnus, Sovtek MIG-100 etc., etc.
The good news is there are LOTS of stable parts sources for tubes, xformers,
and severly tweaky components like hand made caps, silver hex wound xformers
and the like.
