From: "Gary Britt"
There is a big difference here Bob. Goering is describing a wag the dog
scenario, that would be much more likely the province of a democrap
President in trouble for his lying and dishonorable conduct in the
Whitehouse.
Wag the dog is based upon a false and made up attack or threat of violence.
Goering is likewise describing a false or made up attack or threat of
violence.
Republicans didn't make up islamofascism. We are under attack by a real
enemy, and we are taking the war to them. Since its a real threat then
Goering doesn't apply.
And before you respond with WMD, I'll answer for you. Its irrelevant to
the fact that the attacks and threats from islamofascists are real, not
made up. Disagreements over whether Iraq furthered our defense from
islamofascists is irrelevant to the point that we have a real enemy in
islamofascism and this is not made up.
Goering's quote is based on an element of truth of how things work in the
real world, but with the twist that the threat is made up and false. The
world had never seen wag the dog before, until the Nazi's.
Only the gullible or the dishonest would fall for this false comparison or
try to use it in the first place.
