Motor vehicle. Most of my scanning is while I'm on the road. My girlfriend
lives nearly 3 hours away.
I already had a magnetic mount scanner antenna, but there was no convenient
place to stick it and run the wires. I really wanted a trunk or hood lid
mount, but they were only available for CB antennas, so I tried one of them.
That the Radio Shack employee 'helping' me insisted that there was NO WAY it
would work with a scanner just spurred me on. :-)
WV> I have used a cellular mag mount on car roof with 5x5 (or better)
WV> results. If you're also doing mobile, the cellular is NICE'n'- SHORT.
If I get a chance to try a cellular antenna, I'll be sure to try, but mostly
I've been shying away from them. There are several cellular lookalikes for
scanners and CB's, though I can't for the life of me see why, especially
since I'm told that reception is not as good.
... An unbiased opinion is always absolutely valueless.
