JB> then), I doubt seriously there is an actual beta version available,
Not publicly
JB> much less one that is more stable than Win95.. If that were the case,
Debatable - only amongst the beta testers though.
In theory however, it will be much more stable.
JB> it would have been out by now.. As for being faster than Warp, with
JB> what? All the new Win32 programs that you're going to have to buy?
Partly. The aformentioned stability comes from the fact that the remaining
DOS parts are gone. Any Win16 program that needed the old boot process
(IO.SYS -> COMMAND.COM -> WIN.COM) in order to work, won't anymore.
QF> would go for WinNT 4.0 since it dose not crash like Win95, freeze up,
JB> You forgot to mention "slower"...
NT is a heavy duty network server. And it requires resources accordingly.
JB> Who wants to run Windows software when you can run 32bit OS/2 apps?
You mean there are some!? :)
Funny, one of the programs I use was written by an OS2 fan, but since he
couldn't get his hands on a OS2 compiler for a reasonable price (he's not
a professional programmer so buying a new package is a waste) he compiled it
with a >free< Win32s compiler. How's that for OS2 support eh :)
JB> For any software made specifically for Windows, there is bound to be
JB> an equal or better program specific to OS/2..
Not really. There are equivalents that do the same job, but don't do it as
good, as pretty (presentation is important), or as quick (who wants to write
macros when the program can convert your keystrokes to macros for you?).
JB> finding that software, but you just have to know where to look..
You also need to know how to extract blood from a stone.
