Bill, I don't know you as well as some others here, but dark times are dark
times, and we've all been through them.

Which brings me to Chicago in the winter.  Do everything you can to beat
the added burden the high latitude, December and looming SAD will put on
you. Blast yourself in the face with bright light; take long walks; get out
into the country - whatever floats your boat.

Talk here, if you can stand us yahoos.

And if you don't have young kids to support and the beginning of a mortgage
to pay, well, hey, you're ahead of the game, even if you're broke.  Smell
the roses.  Look up free things to do in the midst of your serious plans. 
Hit the museums.  Use the music you know and revere.  And so forth.
