Have you got the reference for this? I'm very intrigued as to how
mercury coats a protein ;-)
Analytical chemistry has greatly improved these days, to the point we
can smell a wet dog 2 counties away. The detection limit for mercury is
quite low, using atomic absorption or GC/MS.
