Greetings from Pensey's Point, Francisco!
Chris Sallek put finger to keyboard and spelled out some words about
Geoworks Pro to Francisco Perez on 30-Apr-96.
 CS> @PID: JCQWK 2.50 à 4.4

FP>> I got Geoworks Pro Version 1.2.8.2 and
FP>> I like to know if there is a way to make
FP>> it work with Windows 95.
CS> Most people have moved on to v2.0(1). I will
CS> assume that the same steps are needed for use
CS> with v1.2x. From Win'95, drop to DOS and use
 CS> the following SETVER commands:
 CS> SETVER LOADER.EXE 4.00
 CS> SETVER SETUP.EXE 4.00
For version 1.2.x the first SERVER should be:
SETVER KERNEL.EXE 4.00
CS> You might try 5.00 first (that is what is
CS> needed to run v2.x under Win'95) but I think
 CS> that v1.x requires v4 of DOS.
Actually version 2.x will work under Win95 if you tell it that the DOS
is 6.2 and under PC DOS if you tell it version 6.30. In other words
version 2.x recognises version 6.x DOS. However version 1 doesn't, as it
was written before there was a version 6 DOS. Versions 3.x, 4.x and 5.0
(I think) are all recognised by version 1.x of Ensemble/Quick
Start/Geoworks Pro.
CS> If you are running a Pentium, you will prob-
CS> ably have the initial setup freeze at the Prin-
CS> ter installation. Try starting Ensemble anyway...
CS> if it won't start, open GEOS.INI with a text ed-
CS> itor and change continuesetup=true (near the top
CS> of the file) to false and it should then work.
 CS> -!-
This is certainly true of version 2.x, but I don't know whether there is
a problem with version 1.x.
