And to be sure, if they had TOLD you a lie and said that they wanted it
because they were poor and had no computer, then I think you could be
legitimately angered at being deceived. From your story, that doesn't
seem to be what happened though.

Exactly. The transaction that occured was still the same, it was only
your attitude which changed (after you saw them at their table).
It is my hope that these experiences would not cause people to stop
giving their old unused Ataris to good homes. We are all going to be
scammed a certain percentage of the time. We shouldn't let that stop us
from giving opportunities to the others. The Atari 8-bit is the best
8-bit for teaching kids about computers and programming.
