| subject: | ATM Interpreting first Ronchi tests |
To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Scott Berfield" I just did a preliminary check of my mirror (well, soon to be mirror) with a Ronchi screen since after two hours of polishing it was looking shiny enough to test. While I know I am under orders not to worry about the figure until I am done polishing, I want to make sure I am learning to properly interpret the tests before I get toe h figuring stage where it really matters. I have posted a page at http://www.berfield.com/ronchi.htm. If anyone wants to check it out and tell me if I am seeing what I think I am seeing, I would appreciate it. It looks to me like I currently have an oblate spheroid and a turned edge. I am assuming that as I continue polishing this should even out to a sphere? I am using a 1/3 COC stroke with MOT. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. (sorry about the image quality - I held a PC camera up to the tester by hand and then had to scale the images in Photoshop since I couldn't get them larger with the camera.) ----------------------------------- They always say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself. -Andy Warhol --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/1.100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
