MSA To Hit Lorain County Speedway This Saturday Night
By Lee A. Booze

Fans looking for action packed night of open wheel racing this weekend need
to look no further than Lorain County Speedway. The South Amherst , Ohio
oval will play host to seventeenth visit by the PPG Vibrance Collection
Midwest Supermodified Association since the series started in 2001.

Over the past seven seasons "The County" has been one of the series' most
competitive tracks. Ten different drivers have notched wins at the 3/8th
mile oval, with Indepdence , Ohio 's Tim Jedrzejek leading the way with
four victories. Last year belonged to ACME Racing with teammates Moe Lilje
and Dave Shullick Jr. sweeping the two MSA visits to the Lorain .

Previous winners expected to compete at Lorain include Denny Fisher, who
picked up his first career win here in 2001. Jack Smith won at Lorain in
2004. Both drivers are coming off good finishes at the MSA opener at
Oswego Speedway two weeks ago. Jedrzejek is also back in competition in
MSA, now teamed up with owner Craig Reed. Timmy J finished a close second
to defending champ and Oswego winner Dave Shullick Jr.

Other MSA drivers are hoping Lorain County can be more kind to them in
2008. Jon Henes from nearby LaGrange , Ohio has been a consistent runner
at Lorain over the years. Bob Dawson lives only blocks from the track and
would love to visit Lorain 's victory lane for the first time. Add in
tough competitors like Lorain's Charlie Schultz, Randy Burch and youngsters
like Jeff Banyas, Brandon Fisher and Matt Palmer, it has the makings of a
great evening of traditional supermodified racing.

"Our opener coupled with Oswego Speedway was a great success," noted MSA
President Kevin Jaycox. "We're expecting a full field to turn out for the
Ohio opener for supermodified racing." The gates will open at LCS this
Saturday at 2:30pm with practice beginning at 3pm.

Dave Shullick Jr. currently owns the track record at Lorain with a 12.320
clocking. At the opener Tim Jedrzejek set a new track record at Oswego
indicating that the cars are fast this year. Time Trials for the supers
will begin at 5pm. The first green flag drops at Lorain at 7pm this
Saturday night. Adult general admission will be $15 with kids 6-12 priced
at $5. Kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes will be $25.
