| subject: | ATM Video for Foucault |
To: Reply-To: "Scott Berfield" Hi all. I am getting close to polishing out my 12" and have started teaching myself to use the Foucault rig I built. What I have discovered is that because of some damage to my eyes from an illness many years ago, I have a great deal of trouble resolving the image of the mirror clearly (I have a buildup of protein on the lenses in both eyes as well as some permanent "floaters"). I tried snapping some pics using a small Web cam I have and the shape of the mirror was far more visible in the pics than it was to my eye. Unfortunately, the Web cams don't have sufficient zoom to get the image big enough and the compression artifacts are pretty ugly. I know a lot of you use video for your Foucault testers and I was looking for suggestions on rigs/equipment. I have a nice digital camcorder that I could probably figure out a rig for, but it is sort of bulky and the auto-focus auto-iris, etc... Are only somewhat manually adjustable. Suggestions? -sb ------------------------------------------------------ Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood. - Daniel Burnham --- BBBS/NT v4.00 MP* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/1.100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
