Hi all,
Just an update on my progress.  I am within maybe an hour of having this
mirror completely polished out.  Probably less.  Slanted laser light shows
a faint haze which matches the haze reflected from the inside back of the
mirror.
Foucault text shows a perfect sphere.  The entire mirror nulls
simutaneously.  There is a very thin line of light around the entire
mirror, almost invisible, when the mirror is nulled.  The Ronchi test shows
perfectly straight, perfectly even lines edge to edge. My next step, after
a little more polishing, is to parabolize it. Then build the mount and tube
and star test it.  I'll keep you posted. Clear skies, Jerry
