TC>> Here in Germany, volounteers work nearly only in EMS at events, just a
TC>> small number of volounteers work in Ambulance service.
LP>In Italy the situation is upset. Events are done overall by commercial
LP>organisation, since they rarely do emergency ambulance service.
That means, that the whole Emergency Ambulance Service in Italy is based
on the work of volunteers?
I allway thought, that the emergency ambulance service in Italy was done
by the U.S.L.
LP>Every region decides how to organize its emergency medical service.
Here too, each of the 16 German Laender has it's own regulations e.g. wich
emergency telephonnumber is used or wich level of education the personal
has to have.
LP>For example here in Lombardia 118 emergency medical number is based on
LP>volunteer's organisations, without any nurse or medic personnel on
LP>ambulances (all BLS) except for helicopter and ALS ambulances during the
LP>night that replace helicopter.
How many Helecopters or ALS-Ambulances are there for a City the size of
Milan? Here in Bremen, were 500 000 people live, we have 4 ALS-Ambulaces
(with doc), 1 Helecopter and a few dozend BLS-Ambulances.
LP>This ALS ambulance here in Milan is composed by:
LP>- driver (volunteer)
LP>- radio operator (volunteer)
LP>- doctor in anesthesiology and reanimatology
LP>- nurse
A nurse with special EMS-training?
