Hi David
I think this shows the power of the W stroke, ( I'm liking
it more and more ) for TDE.
As I remove the lap from the mirror, I spray water on the
mirror. I then slosh this around with light pressure and with the side of
my hand wipe the major part off the mirror. I then take a paper towel and
wipe quickly from the center of the mirror to the edge, all around the
mirror. I use different parts of the towel to keep it mostly dry. Any water
sleeks left should dry, almost, instantly or I wipe again with the paper
towel. When done I have a surface clean enough to test with the Foucault.
No matter what you do, there will still be a few spots of
dust. If you find something with your LASER, wipe it again, if it doesn't
move, it is most likely a pit but be careful, bubbles that are right below
the surface show brightly. Dwight
