A recent post reminded us that there is always some light scattering at the
surface. There is always going to be SOME light visible where the laser
beam goes through the surface. Maybe close inspection with a lens and
different angles of light will "clarify" whether the polish is
done.

You're obviously doing the right thing. Looks real good.

Subject: ATM More questions on 6 inch mirror

After your last round of support, I remade my pitch lap (softer pitch) and
spent another 90 minutes polishing last night. You can check out my
progress at:

I think this is good progress so unless someone tells me to stop, I plan to
spend another 90 minutes tonight doing the exact same thing.

I also have another question for you all. When you think that you are done
polishing how do you clean off the mirror prior to doing the
flashlight/laser test? I have just been rinsing in tap water but can still
get minor reflections and they do not seem to be getting any better after
12+ hours.

Thanks again for all the help and encouragement.
