From: "Kreig McBride" To: Reply-To: "Kreig McBride" I purchased a Peacock silvering kit last year for the Telescope Optics Workshop for a silvering demonstration. The kit is very expensive! However it is inexpensive when you think about what you get, enough silver to cover the Palomar mirror!!! It was easy to make up a coating, if you are meticulous, and have very very clean habits in handling chemicals. After the demonstration, I split up the kit into 3 parts and sold it off, so sorry dont have any to share or sell. I would suggest that several ATM's get together for a such a project. I dont believe the coatings are as smooth as aluminum deposition, however, maybe someone who has done some testing can clarify how accurate the coatings are compared to aluminization.
