Hi Bill
 If you use the usual amounts, the coarse grit will
be consumed the fastest. It also depends on how efficient you are with the
grit. Most put way too much time between adding grit and then grind too
long without adding more. You get the best effects by using very small
amounts often, instead of large amounts for long times. It is normal to
only get 4 to 5 strokes before adding more grit with the coarse grits. Use
a salt shaker for your coarse grits as well to help control the amount and
distribution.
 Usually the finer grits are enough to do a couple of
mirrors.
