Mark,
The idea seems bright to me ( but this is not a proof).

Folded path also seems a good idea as this will  maybe not increase
sensitivity but will decrease number of freedoms for OTA and made 3D
adjustment accuracy better and alignment more reproducible.

I will try it ( give it a try?)
