Linux won't run your Atari software. And for those who don't have a
Falcon, I should mention that Linux does require a PMMU, so you'll
need a Falcon or TT. The Unix version of Netscape requires 16MB of
RAM. I suppose it should work alright in the Falcon's 14MB, but
configuring Linux and X-Windows is gonna be alot harder than using
MiNT. And 68K Linux is not as stable as MiNT right now, and MiNT-NET
if much better than the Linux networking.
******************************************
I KNOW that Linux won't run Atari software! But with a large hard drive, an
FPU and 14MB of memory it can easily be run side by side with TOS-all you
need is a boot manager like Superboot,XBoot, or Stoop. As for stability of
Linux, well all that takes is developement:-) Linux **IS** a mainstream
flavour of UNIX on most platforms along with SCO, BSD,etc. Because of that it
may be an area for Atari users to look into that want to use their computing
skills in the workplace.
